Locus, Temple

2015 | 2 hr 27 min | Moving Image

Deep within the architectures of a Hare Krishna temple in Old Dhaka, Bangladesh, ascetics and the faithful live out intricate scenes of devotion, contradiction and absurdity. From ecstatic dances and mythical songs to PowerPoint presentations on the nature of the soul, this immersive, humorous film is a playful exploration of the practicalities and mysteries of deeply-felt lives of the spirit.

This project was shortlisted for the 2015 Blake Art Prize, Galleries UNSW, UNSW Art & Design
